CASSINI map of Hawaii. An excellent reproduction of this famous Hawaiian map, being the first time Hawaii appeared in an atlas. The original copper plate engraving was published in Rome in 1798 at the Pressola Calcongrafia Camerale. This was based on the Capt.James Cook map of 1784, except that a vignette of the Death of Cook has been added, instead of the chart of Karakakooa Bay on the English version. The route taken by the Cook expedition is shown but some of the dates given are inaccurate. Printed area 19"x14", full colour
